Pier to Pier Friendship WalkDate: Sunday, 10/24
Join Chadwick's team at Skechers 13th annual friendship walk. Walk from Manhattan Beach Pier to Hermosa Beach Pier with the team to support the Friendship Foundation, an organization that assists children with special needs and their families. Peace4Kids Pool DayDate: Saturday, 5/21
Join us for a fun-filled day on Chadwick's campus with the Peace4Kids organization. Peace4Kids is a non-profit, volunteer supported organization dedicated to supporting youth in foster care. Participants range in age from 4 years old through adulthood, and we have a great time swimming in the pool, playing on commander field, and hanging out with them on this amazing day! |
Midnight MissionDates: 9/19, 11/14, 2/13, 5/15
Founded in 1914, the Midnight Mission is dedicated to helping those most in need in our community. Join us from 3:00pm to 6:00pm on the dates listed above to lend a helping hand and prepare a meal for homeless individuals. We are scheduled to attend midnight mission on the dates listed; however, those are subject to change due to COVID. |
Shared BreadDates: 10/6, 10/20, 11/3, 11/17, 12/1, 1/5, 2/2, 2/16, 3/2, 3/16, 4/6, 4/20, 5/4, 5/18
Located at First United Methodist Church of Redondo Beach, Shared Bread offers a free meal to anyone who's hungry every Wednesday. Normally, volunteers set up tables, serve the food, and clean up; however, due to COVID, things are working differently right now. We are still doing our part by preparing dishes in our homes to all be mixed together and served. More specific details will be available closer to the event dates . |
Hunger BanquetDate: Monday, 11/15
Join the entire Chadwick community for a night full of fun and food packaging! After learning about world hunger, you will be placed in stations and work through an assembly line packaging meals to be sent to service and relief agencies throughout the world. The more the merrier! We hope to see you there! |
PVPLCDate: Saturday, 1/22
The mission of the Palos Verdes Peninsula Land Conservancy (PVPLC) is to "preserve land and restore habitat for the education and enjoyment of all." Chadwick students and families are encouraged to help clean and restore local habitats with this amazing organization! |
Beach CleanupsDates: Saturday, 9/18 and Saturday, 4/16
The Community Service Advisory Board has planned two beach cleanups for the 2021-22 school year. Join volunteers at RAT Beach to pick up trash and give back to our amazing environment. All materials will be provided! |
The Salinas ProjectDate: Thursday, 2/17 to Sunday, 2/20 *MOVED TO VIRTUAL*
Chadwick students spend a long weekend working with the Sherwood Elementary School community in Salinas, California. While in Salinas, we will lead projects in the classroom, host a dinner and education night for families, stay in the migrant camp, and attend educational workshops and/or field trips. Stay tuned for the application to open up! |
24 Hours of HomelessnessDates: Friday, 3/18 to Saturday, 3/19
Students encounter homelessness first-hand and learn about the challenges this social crisis has created for our cities. Students spend the night at the Los Angeles Mission, prepare and serve meals to the clientele, participate in the evening religious service, and tour the Skid Row neighborhood in downtown LA. Spring Break Trip to South KoreaDate: Friday, 3/25 to Saturday, 4/2 *POSTPONED*
This trip will provide Chadwick students with a wonderful opportunity to connect with our sister school and engage with Korean culture. Students will travel to Chadwick International to immerse themselves in the culture and history of South Korea. Students will attend 2 half days of class with CI buddies, explore Seoul, visit the Demilitarized Zone, take classes in traditional Korean calligraphy and cuisine, and much more. |
Poverty Program CollectionsDate: Collecting from 11/15 to 11/19
Saints Peter & Paul Poverty Program strives to alleviate hunger and malnutrition among families in Wilmington. Chadwick does our part to help the Poverty Program's mission by organizing a donation drive for Thanksgiving and Christmas. More details will come out closer to our collection dates about what goods you can donate, so check back in to spread some holiday cheer! |
Red Cross Blood DriveDate: Thursday, 2/10
Giving blood is a simple thing to do, but it can make a huge difference in the lives of others. The Red Cross Club is committed to making blood donation convenient and accessible to you so that you can help others in need. This is why the blood drive is hosted on-campus and only takes a few minutes of your time. You miss be 16 years or older to donate. Stay tuned for updates! |
