Weekly Service Sites: Barton Hill Add on Math, Rancho Vista Friendship Foundation What is your favorite Chadwick Service memory? I have lots of good Chadwick service memories, but my favorite would have to be launching the rockets we made with the students in Salinas. It was so amazing to see how much fun they had with the project we did with them and how happy they were when their rockets were successful. It was a great experience to be a part of. Why do you do service? I do service because I enjoy knowing that I utilize the resources available to me to make other people's days better. I have the ability to make someone's week or even day better through acts of service, and that means a lot to me. What have you learned about yourself through service? Through service, I have realized the amount power my time holds. I have realized that even with just an hour or two, I am able to create real impact in other people's lives. Whether it be through a food or clothes drive or real interaction with a group of people, service has shown me the real opportunities I have to make positive change. Besides service, what else are you involved in? In school, I am a member of the Chadwick girl's volleyball team, improv, weekly community service, and Science Olympiads. I also lead the Chadwick Friendship Foundation Club. Outside of Chadwick, I play club indoor volleyball for Southern California Volleyball Club and club beach volleyball for Elite Beach. I am also involved in service outside of school through National Charity League. Additionally, I am a Gold Award recipient for completing a 100+ hour service project dedicated to increasing the financial literacy of young women. |
